I haven't had the chance to use it much after updating it but one thing I've noticed is that now within apps likes yellow pages when I want directions I can now set Spring Navigator as the default GPS app.

Go to menu>settings>applications>Unknown sources.

You need the box checked for that one.

Thank you!  The boards are great!

I have version 2.8 I don't see premium anywhere and I do have BIS and MDS(BES) and tcp as connection options.  Anyone have any idea about this?

I meant, which connection type should we be using, It seem odd that we would be using BIS or BES doesn't it?  That's just what I was referring too.

I recently got the Moment phone and the Sprint Navigation app updated the first time I used it. I am intrigued that some have Premium and others, such as myself, don't. That option to have speech recognition vs calling in, fill in the blanks would be handy. Any more word on if it really works and how to get Premium, if it does?

As an offtopic aside, I already miss the Livesearch app that was on my older phone. It let you put in what city you were looking for and what category of item you were searching for audibly. Calling the location you chose was simplified, as well.

Anyone know of a comparable app for the MomentS Seems like you can do that with Sprint Nav, but it is a lot clunkier, especially with having to manually enter stuff. Google maps doesn't make it, either. seems like it leaves off the phone number.

How well does the calling in method work? How much of a charge is there to use it?

Thanks in advance for any response. Great site here.

I use an app from the market called "where".  It works wells with finding things by category in whatever location you are in.

I did this before I just read your post about not messing with it.  But i'm still curious to know why I have those options as somone also said earlier in the thread that there is something fishy about the install if you have those options.  Where can I get the navi software to try and install it again, if I wanted to.

You can go to your download folder and open the file again to re-install the update.

Still no rhyme or reason with the Premium vs regular.  I unistalled and deleted my wifes update file.  I carried over my fille to her phone.  Installed it and her's still shows regular.  It is not the file that determines it, so must be a coding/service issue.  No word from Sprint about the Premium issue either.

I just updated and got Premium.

HOWEVER, I'm reading through the guide to find out differences and it says the Premium version is a paid version... What???

Edit: Maybe the it downloads a different version according to your plan?  Is that even possible?  Does the phone know what plan you're on?  Maybe the Sprint Jesus is picking and choosing who gets what according to whether they've been naughty or nice or AWESOME?

Here is what I do know: my Moment is the primary line on a 3-Line Family Plan, maybe that makes a difference.

My moment is the primary line on the account + plan.  Did not get premium.  Coworker with a hero has same account/plan setup and got premium.

Yes the Premium is usually extra.  My account does not show extra charges for it but haven't used it to get directions yet.  Some have stated that a popup shows up asking for them to agree to upgrade to premium.  Dont have a clue.

My Moment is the primary line on a 4 line share plan. (which I am a premier member as well) but my wifes on the same account got the regular.

Still scratching head on this.
