I got a text message from Sprint to update my PRL. I did three days ago. Starting the day after the update I keep getting "Process system not responding" "Force close or Wait". It takes the phone 5-10 minutes to boot up now. I received a text message and my phone decided to restart itself. I got a phone call and all the buttons stopped working and I had to remove the battery. Sometimes the phone does not boot up at all and it gets stuck on the SAMSUNG screen and I have to remove the battery. I have 2.1. It worked perfectly until I updated PRL. How can updating the PRL cause this? Do I have to go back and install 2.1 all over again? and should I do the PRL update again after reinstall (if necessary)or not? Help

If u installed the new update that's ur problem. It messed up a lot of moments. It took the the slide lock away and still locks up on data connection. It the new update causing ur isses. Ur not the only one has these problems. Sprint suppose to put a fix update on this sometime. I hope I answered ur questions or take it back to the sprint store.

Go to menu settings and about phone. Check to see what update u got. I'm guessing it say DI06. That ur problem the update has messed up several of our phones. The update didn't fix anything just created more issue. U might be able to flash back to 2.1 if u do the update will keep popping up to install.

What's a home replacement app? If you mean did I root it and install a different OS then no. I have the Android 2.1 that I downloaded from the Sprint site. It worked fine after the 2.1 update. Nothing was wrong with the phone until I updated that PRL. I didn't think the PRL update could do this, but I wasn't 100% sure. Can I just reinstall 2.1? I hate having to download all my apps again Is there something else I can try? If reinstalling 2.1 doesn't work does that mean my phone is dead and I should take it back to Radio Shack? If it is then this would be the second one that died in 6 months....sheesh.

This all sounds like what has been happening to me the last few days. I did that update a while ago though (over a week) and everything was fine. Then the last couple days it would freeze constantly, things would force close constantly, and I was getting random reboots and sometimes it would reboot a couple times before finally booting. Not to mention it takes between five and ten minutes for my phone to boot up (literally, not exaggerating). I would also get that "Process system not responding" message every time my phone booted up.
Just this morning I downloaded the update utility from the Sprint web site and re-flashed (and yes it is the DI06 version) and everything has been working fine now.
Is DI06 the problem? I have a backup of DE03 on my computer. Should I flash back to that?

I'm having the same problems as these guys above. I thought it was maybe because my phone is going on a year old and its just slowing down but that doesn't appear to be the problems. I have the same issues and more. If I'm using an app and a call comes in it takes so long for the phone to switch over to the phone app that I miss the call. Then it usually force closes the phone app. Its terribly frustrating and makes me want to throw my phone thru a window. Luckily my uograde is coming in December. New phone here I come!

Where did you get DI18? On the Sprint Download page DI06 is the one that's available and that's the one I just reflashed to this morning.

Interested in where to get a copy of DI18 as well. My phone started doing this crap last night. Seriously took it HOURS to start. It sat on the Samsung opening page for 3-4 hours this afternoon.

QUESTION: I found a DI18 update... but it was on a Samsung Epic forum. Are all DI18 updates the same? I just wanna get this DI06 crap off of here ASAP. This thing is running like total rectum. Slower than my 7 year old laptop.

no that DI18 is only for the Epic....for some odd reason sprint/samsung decided to using the same numbering/naming (genius) this should be DI18 that i uploaded recently http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E1B07GOM

I reset the phone to factory settings. Seems to run smoother now. Although for some reason... my contacts aren't coming back, even though I know I sync'd my account. I've got 2 of them back... and that's it.
Fkn phone.
