Best thing possible is the overclocking widget (root only).
It allows u to lower the processor power when the screen is off.

yes.  i have overclockwidget installed and have it set to lower the cpu frequency to 92mhz while the phone is sleeping, and i've seen dramatic improvement in my battery life while the phone is sleeping.

I have installed every Root Required overclocking app/widget I found on the market...None of which would show me "current" clock speed so I can verify my UNDERCLOCK settings. Anyways I have since found the newest version of one of those apps from the actual developer who provided it for free. From the XDA Developer Website. THAT version I can specifically choose Samsung Moment...then create profiles in which cases I want to automatically underclock or set to max 800MHZ speed.

Other tips to save battery life:

1: Get the Brightness Widget (I can set it between 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% brightness. I keep it at 0% Indoors or At night, SOMETIMES in the car if I need to conserve battery.

2. Some sort of Task Killer. I have tried the Automatic Task Killers and they use just about as much memory as leaving the tasks running. Id rather leave the tasks running because then I wont have any conflicts with getting email updates and stuff. However if you use the non-automatic ones...You'd be constantly killing apps all day. Lose-Lose...but if you kill apps and what not it should help save battery.

3. KEEP the screen OFF if your not using it. Menu> Settings> Sound & Display> Screen Timeout> Set to 15 seconds. This could be VERY annoying...but if your low on battery...it helps.

*IF ROOTED* Get the setClock application and turn your CPU clock down. I noticed when setting it to 133 MHZ it lagged sliding through from one window to the next...well...it dragged...as soon as I clocked it back to 800 MHZ it was quick again.

After reading various sites for battery life, I found a great tip here.

I usually have my phone on 24/7 and just discharging it all the way and charging it makes me feel that it made a difference.

Can more of you attest to the above? or am I dreaming?

P.S. I do use ATK.

Just figured I would post my current setup in here along with battery life.

My phone has been off the charger for 13 hours, with moderate(work) use:
-roughly 100 minutes of mp3 player usage
-43 texts sent, 36 received(including 4 mms)
-16 email notifications
-8 calls placed/received(total talk time of about 14 minutes)
-50 minutes or so of web surfing using Dolphin
-GPS Enabled
-GDE Home Replacement

My battery is still showing 75%!

-Root
--SetCPU
---Max 800/Min 133
----Profiles:
----Charging Max 800/Min 66
----Sleep Max 266/Min 66
----Power < 100% Max 800/Min 66
----Battery > 50.5°C Max 400/Min 66
---CPU Governor: Conservative
--Deleted Weather.apk so The Weather Channel stops pinging my gps 24/7

And that's really it... Just those two things done in root, and my phone's battery is a champ.

Some of what has been said to help the battery here is not needed not to be on anyones case. I have stock Moment and I get 1 day and a half off of 1 charge. Seriously, I conditioned my battery and it has helped. When I say conditioned what I did was drain my battery completely and fully recharge without interrupting. do this twice and you will see a difference. My phone settings are wifi & gps off unless needed, screen brightness set to auto, screen timeout at 30 seconds, and I have taskiller set to autokill while screen is off and I have several apps running constantly like weather.com app, battery indicator, twidroid, wave security, wheres my droid, IM, and taskiller. If you have had your phone for over a month and have not conditioned it then trying these steps might not help because your battery is already conditioned to your regular use and charge cycle.

Also I am a heavy user. I text almost 6 hours out of the day, I have emails pushed whenever they arrive. I constantly check market about 2 hours a day, I make maybe 1 hour of calls and I can seriously go 1 day and a half on a single charge.

As of now, the easiest way to maximize your battery life is to make sure you update your phone with CL14.  Makes a WORLD of difference.

Ive got my phone after the update came out so I wouldnt know the difference prior to CL14 but I have never had a android phone with a battery this good. I have had a G1, MyTouch 3G, Moto Cliq and Moment. The moment is great to me. The battery is as good as the blackberries i used to use. the 8330 and 8530.

Stock CJ05 was pretty bad.  I did good to get 12 hrs out of it.  I'm pretty much getting a day and a half like you now.

i just got my moment on saturday but Ill have a full charge in the morning...play music on the bus for about 30 minutes. Then id run taskiller and my phone would go into sleep for the rest of the school day. By the time im off and pull it out to use it its at 15 percent. I turned GPS off use taskiller and put the brightness on the lowest setting and still it drains. I have been turning it off during the day but as soon as i start using it and texting it drains rapidly. Any suggestions?

Someone just needs to release an extended option...larger battery and a new cover w/ a slightly larger bulge.  This phone is pretty slim as is, so I'm willing to sacrifice thickness in exchange for actually being able to use my phone for an entire day.

Would you guys say that if I've already had my Moment for say 6 months, I can condition my battery at this point??? Or is it too late?

By mistake, I'm not really sure what happened, the battery completely died yesterday. It took HOURS to charge fully, I mean seriously like ALL DAY, and when I unplugged it was down to 40% in just 30 minutes. Yikes.

(I am planning to upgrade to 2.1 within the month... need some time and determination to do it... I do not have CL14... does that change any advice?)

please help!
