OK, so I've had my moment a while, use it regularly as my main mp3 player too since the battery on my archos 605 won't hold a charge anymore. I'm happy with the mp3 player, it does what it's meant to do. Only thing is i wish there were an EQ of some sort but I only found 1 media player app that had 1 and it sucked (EQ was amazing, media playback was awful).

I did read in 1 forum someone commented "why are you even still using the stock media player for mp3s?" as a response to a question about the media player. Which raises a question for me... Why not? What do other media players (primarily for music) do better than the stock player? I tried a few and felt like they didn't do anything much differently than the stock 1 except had a little more web integration. I can't remember the 1s I tried though. Maybe I just haven't tried the right 1? I think 1 I did try was meridian (heard it mentioned a lot) but again didn't see too much different/better about it besides the interface.

Thanks for feedback

I use something called subsonic

http://www.subsonic.org

You have to install the server on your home computer before you can do anything. There is an android app that is free, but it only works for 30 days on your server. A donation of any amount will unlock your subsonic server.

Best part about it is I can use the memory card that came with the phone and still be able to listen to my entire library of music.

Is this one of those programs that once it expires, you can uninstall it and reinstall it and it will continue to work? Or perhaps uninstall just before it expires and reinstall the full 30 days again? Not to sound cheap  Wink

I highly recommend Mortplayer.  Yes its a funny name but a great app that is very stable though still in a beta mode.  I used the Winmo version for years.  Its available in the marketplace.  There are currently two versions, one dedicated to music and another for podcasts/audio books. There are also widgets.
