So I've been playing around with making some custom font packs and decided to start taking requests. If there is a specific font anyone would like to be able to use on their device let me know and I will make a custom font pack for you.
To make things easier please locate a FREE font from a website such as:
DaFont.com (my personal favorite)
Fonts.com1001fonts.comOnce you find a font send me a link to that fonts page and give me your email address where I can send you the APK file.
If there are a few fonts you like include the links to all of them. There can be multiple fonts in each font pack (of course). For now we'll just say the limit is 10 fonts.
Font packs will be named "X_Fonts" with the X being either your username, email name or a Package Name if you provide one in the email.Instructions for installing the font packages:1 - Download the APK file
2 - Save to your SD Card
3 - Use an app like "AppInstaller" to install from your SD Card
Using a Custom Font Pack in Handcent:1 - Open Handcent
2 - Go to Menu > Settings > Custom Style
3 - Tap "Scan external font packages" (it will search for installed font packages)
4 - Tap "Conversation list settings" and/or "Bubble settings"
5 - Choose what you want to change
6 - Select your font package from the "Package" list
7 - Select your font from the "Font" list
HELP:If anyone else wants to help out with making font packages, feel free to do so.
Install the Android SDK at
Android Developers.
Follow the
Hello World tutorial to figure out how to start packages.
After you've finished step 3 in the Hello World tutorial add a "fonts" folder under the "assets" folder and just drag in fonts to the "fonts" folder.
I don't know much of anything about using the SDK so I won't be much help with that. I only figured it out as far as to do these font packs.
