I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong place, but I have been reading this thread and feel that the folks who dug into the code and found out why the Moment has the issue with battery measurement are pretty impressive.

I have read in other forums that people are experiencing (as I am as well) issues with the android system restarting and that this behavior only seems to happen when below 15% battery life is indicated.  For example, I may be using the browser, twidroid, etc. and the system freezes and then shows the android startup logo.

Any ideas why this is happening and a fix?

Thank you and keep up the great work (and hopefully someone at Samsung is listening).

All the battery meter fix did is update the code that displays how much juice your battery has.  I've noticed inability for my phone to sleep and took a bunch of programs out of my ignore list on ATK and occasionally run ATK throughout the day, killing ATK as well...no issues anymore.

As far as the phone rebooting at 15% or so...that either indicates the battery is completely dead and the battery meter is wrong (impossible based on the code, unless perhpas you have Sprints CL14 and they modified settings for getting the battery reading) or a software glitch elsewhere.

I have the CL14 update from Sprint and also noticed issues with my phone not sleeping.

For me, Spare Parts is showing 1 hour of sensor usage for Android System in a 12 hour day -- previously I did not have any sensor usage and I assume this is due to the aGPS fix.  I also found that while I had WeatherBug set to not follow me by location, network location was still selected elsewhere (I deselected).

As for the freeze/reboot issue below 15%, I have narrowed this down a bit.  It happens much more frequently for me when using WiFi below 15% (this is on two different Moments).  Maybe WiFI uses more power than EVDO/1x data?

the phone not sleeping due to the aGPS, use wireless networks, option, I have a theory with my results posted here. I know there is a looping error which gets triggered and will report in logcat once every minute while the screen is off.  haven't found a fix, short of turning use wireless networks off...
There is also another thread with some more details about terrible battery life since the update here and I know some people have claimed the overclock widget allows the cpu to be slowed down while the phone is sleeping saving more battery here.

Joey,
I read the link you gave on battery issues since the update.  I am running CL14 and ZE9.2 and just recently have had major issues with the battery draining quicker than before the update.  I can actually watch the battery drain.
I have turned off gps, wifi and wireless networks and still the battery life gets worse every day.  Does anybody have any more suggestions?  Would charging the phone with a half battery cause any memory affect?  I think not since this is a Li battery.

Thanks

if you have two batteries for the phone, i would swap and see if it drains fast with both batteries or just one. if you don't have two batteries, don't worry.

not sure what thread it was in, but there was a guy with this issue. he took it to the sprint store and i think they replaced his phone. i'd put the stock kernel back on at minimum, maybe flash cl14 update with cj05 sbl, for safe measure and take it into the sprint store.

Yes, I do have a second battery and the very same thing happened.  When I replaced it within 20 minutes I have lost 30 - 40% of my battery strength.  What gives? Is no one else having this problem?

Do you recommend going back to stock before visiting the Sprint store?  The only stores in my area are partner stores that don't do the upgrade anyway.

What exactly do I need to flash in order to return to Sprint original or their version of CL14?

I personally would flash it back to stock before taking it in the store because this seems to be a problem with the hardware, not the software.  Although, as safe measure and best practice, once you've flashed back to stock, I would verify the battery still drains rapidly. I wouldn't install any applications just to be safe the battery drain is caused by a completely stock software setup.
there are two different files you could flash with listed below.

I would flash SPH-M900_CL14_STOCK_FIXED_with_CJ05_SBL just cuz I don't want to mess with the CL14 SBL at this point and don't think Sprint would be able to tell the difference.

SPH-M900_CL14_MR.7z - completely stock version of the CL14 update done released by Sprint
and
SPH-M900_CL14_STOCK_FIXED_with_CJ05_SBL.7z - completely stock version of the CL14 update released by Sprint with CJ05 SBL

Guide to the file structure of flash files and difference in SBL

Bring this thread back, my coworker purchased the behold 2 and i have noticed a few things.
The battery temp is almost always at 9 degrees C, while the moment ranges from 30-44 degrees C.
Average battery life is 40-50hrs, while mine is only 12hrs.
1500mah battery, which is a direct fit into the moment phones.
The mv reading seems to be very consistant and not jump around in large increments.

I have done everything possible to prolong my battery life, but with only minimal usage, 12hrs is the longest i have been able to make it last.

Also an important note. the behold phone was flashed with an "aftermarket" galaxy firmware. I do not know if that firmware has different battery code than stock.

There are TONS of variables related to battery life (background apps, location services, etc.), but to me the biggest single factor is signal strength.  Here at work, I have a pretty weak signal (although my Centro worked fine), and I get pretty lousy battery life similar to yours.  On weekends though, when I'm at home and have a good signal, my battery lasts at least 50% longer.  A couple of weekend days, I've gotten through a 17 hour day and still had 30-40% remaining.

Behold II is a Qualcomm MSM A7201 528 (or something like that) mhz ARM11 chip using a ARM1136 core..

Moment is a Samsung S3C6410 800 mhz ARM11 chip using a ARM1176 core...

Behold II is using 9bit adc correlation values, Moment is using a crappy 2 integer resolution ADC correlation value thus lower resolution on power in the moment leads to more jumping around and less accuracy...
