I have a few questions:
1. Will I lose contacts, installed apps, etc?
2. What are the downsides to using this custom rom over the stock one?
3. When Sprint officially releases 2.1, will I have trouble upgrading to official 2.1 from this custom rom?
4. How does someone who's inexperienced like myself apply this rom safely?
5. Can you just release this without a custom boot logo? I appreciate that its there to show its new/different, but it looks really choppy and I'm no anime fan

1) No Smiley We just overwrite the boot logo and kernel, we don't touch any data.
2) No downsides yet, just pros!
3) I can't confirm this because I don't know how they are going to release it. Worse case scenario, we just downgrade back to CJ05 then accept Sprint's upgrade.
4) Just follow any of the Odin tutoral's here. Since we aren't flashing the system partition or the bootloader, it is pretty failsafe. Worse case scenario, you have to try it again.
5) Mostly its there to show this forum Tongue Perhaps if there is enough request for this, then ZE02 will restore the Samsung logo, but for now, ZE01 is released. Sorry.

Going to do this flash tomorrow.. Persistant root isn't requiring SD card partitioning is it?!?

Can we adb in without going into test mode once the persistant root is enabled or must we go into test mode just like temp root?

Please remove the new boot logo..
edit: If i delete the png file from the tar will it mess with odin?

No, the service script creates and chmods in /system/bin/su and /system/xbin/su

And yes, we can adb then su while in running mode.

Just flashed (didnt want to mess with teh tar so just put your logo in there instead of deleting it out)... Worked great and no bootloop (a problem i have been having with root)... will report if it is stable after 24 hours (the normal amount of time before i experience a boot loop)
Edit: I found a problem.. I am attempting to ADB shell in while the phone is running and it is saying device not found.. granted i might have to check usb debug as i am typing this that just poped into my head
Edit Edit: I was able to adb in after turning on debug.. but cant gain root (turn $ into #) any tips on a syntax that i might be missing?

Well, as for the logo, ZE02 will be out by tomorrow, something is still changing my persistent root back.

What about the new modem.bin? I'm not at my "real" computer, so I haven't been able to try it out... Does it provide anything useful?

I am assuming I have to be root to be able to do this?
