Ok... so i was playing around with ODIN 3.98 (thanks to zefie) and came up with my own What The Heck moment. Somehow i unlocked a new screen. I held call, trackpad, and power (to go into the hardware menu) but the hardware test screen didn't show up. Instead i got this:

This now happens every time i try any key combo...including just a normal boot. The only exception is that download mode still works. wonder if it's useful.

ADB doesn't see it.
ODIN 3.98 doesn't see it.

Any ideas?

Yup you bricked it like I did lol. If you have the CJ05 tar released, use this Orion.ops with 3.98. It wont flash, but it will reset which recovered mine.

Bricked!  The samsung thing shows up, and appears to load, but when the bar reaches the right it freezes and nothing ever happens. ^^    Luckily i have another one that works perfectly (technically i'm supposed to send the bricked one back... but i'm holding out on that until they call and yell at me).

I posted this in the other thread as well, but...

zefie / hokansoc - Just curious, but have you tried setting the phone "USB" from "PDA" to "PHONE" in "SELF TEST" mode when attempting any of the flash methods?

1. Boot into "SELF TEST" mode.
-> While powered off, press and hold "TALK" + "Middle Button" and then "END" last until it loads into "SELF TEST" mode (I'm sure you already know how to do this).
2. Scroll down to "12. USB" and select.
3. Change from "PDA" to "PHONE", by scrolling down.

This "may" be necessary for certain software update utilities to connect and actually push a firmware update.

You two know more then me, but I thought I would throw this out there in case it helps.

Not necessary, I've cracked it. I have a successful flash of the firmware, using a modified ops file (attached) using Odin with the original tar.

* Moment.ops (0.08 KB - downloaded 1259 times.)
* Odin_Multi_Downloader_v3.98.exe (406 KB - downloaded 305 times.)

There are a few questions I'm sure we'll all have. My first question is, are you sure the factory image was sent and the factory recovery image wasn't used on the moment? How long before we can flash custom images? etc.

Can you give a more detailed description of what happened? exactly what file was used? SPH-M900_CJ05_REL.tar?

Is it alright with you hokansoc if I post your OPS file on my website?

I'm trying to keep all the important files together. If something is missing let me know and I'll get it posted.

Yes, that's the correct firmware file. It appears, however, that custom firmware files will take quite a lot more work, as the device requires a checksum on the firmware update.

We are positive that the factory image was restored, as the device was bricked until we performed the update.

We are fine with you posting our OPS file.

Also, to get it to work...

Open Odin
Boot phone in download mode (volume down and camera)
Click the box for "one package"
Click OPS - select our OPS file
Click One Package - select the .tar referenced above
Click start.

I'm reciving a new Moment tomorrow, via insurance, as I cracked the s*** out of my screen and am having it replaced. I have 15 days to return the original. It's still totally functional, and if from what I'm gathering is true and we can use this method to recover/restore the original factory recovery image, than does anyone have any root hacks/tricks/images/etc they'd like me to try out on the old phone before i [restore the original firmware] and send it back?
