Title: Re: can anyone help me root? Post by: domsdabomb on March 09, 2010, 06:54:48 PM Well the top most threads should have step by step walkthrough for it. It's not terribly difficult it just takes a little patience. Follow the directions and then if you have problems repost your problem. Step by step walkthrough's are posted here and I'm sure they are posted on SDX-Developers.com. I wouldn't expect an answer to this until you've followed the directions that are already posted. Give it a shot, it's not likely to brick your phone as we've all been using zeifie's and joey's kernals for some time and they both rock.
Title: Re: can anyone help me root? Post by: domsdabomb on March 09, 2010, 06:57:06 PM I would suggest using Joey's kernals as ziefie's I believe requries a few extra steps and if your looking to keep it more simple then joey's is a little more simple to load.

I'm not sure this is accurate at all. The process for flashing zefie's and joey's kernels using the Sprint Update tool are the same. Anyone who has been following zefie knows that once you are on ZE14, flashing gets even easier. Actually, I think Joey's requires an extra step, as you have to load Max's recovery after flashing Joey's kernel. This isn't required with zefie's. Title: Re: can anyone help me root? Actually, I think Joey's requires an extra step, as you have to load Max's recovery after flashing Joey's kernel. This isn't required with zefie's. Max's recovery is designed NOT TO BE included in the kernel flash... they are independent kernels in independent partitions.. this is why joey's kernel does not include it... because it was designed that way Title: Re: can anyone help me root? Post by: dtforever on March 10, 2010, 10:36:55 AM I understand that. All I was saying was that it is not accurate to state that zefie's kernel "requires a few extra steps".

Although if i was you i would try both zefie and joey's and see witch one you like more. Title: Re: can anyone help me root? My dual XEON (prestonia) server shows 4 independent processes (due to dual cpu's with dual threads each).. and benchmarks the same as a core 2 quad... does that mean mine is just as good as a core 2 quad? Title: Re: can anyone help me root? Post by: lovinlissa1984 on March 10, 2010, 07:33:08 PM ok guys. it really doesnt matter whos is better or worse now that Zefie is retiring from moment develpment. Pretty soon all the kernels will have the best of both worlds. This is not really directed toward anyone, but i am trying to keep the SDX VS. Zefie down to a dull roar. Thanks guys.
