I just love the Moment in general.  Grin  I am thrilled to have the keyboard and find it very easy to use.  I also love that it is Android; even if it is plain vanilla cupcake I like it better than WM6.1 - but glad to have the choice of systems.

I so want this phone!! I went to the Sprint store to get my hands on it and was pretty impressed. After handling the hero the moment was easily the better of the 2 to me. Just the feel of the hardware feels sturdier and once they both get upgraded to Android 2.0 the processor will get utilized better. I'm so getting the moment!!

Got home from work last night and there they were, waiting for me.  2 new Moments.  I activated mine (thought I'd figure the device out before I activated my wife's).

I transferred all my Outlook contacts and calendar items.  I've installed about 6 applications, set up all my POP3 email accounts, set up the Music library, changed the wallpaper, moved around some icons and tested some videos.  I created a couple ring tones using RingDroid.

This phone is a dream.  It is super fast, bright and loud.

I formerly had an Instinct and wasn't all that thrilled with it.  I always had a difficult time with the volume level on my bluetooth and with the Moment I have to turn it down a little.  The navigation is much the same as the Instinct but you don't strain your eyes trying to read it, and again the volume level is great... even with the radio on.

I passed on the Palm Pre and the Hero in order to get this phone with the slide out keyboard and I am glad I waited.

This is perhaps the best phone I have ever had... and I've had a cell since 1992 when just making a phone call seemed hi-tech.

I LOVE this phone.  Upgraded from a Samsung Instinct (which I was EXTREMELY Displeased with) that eventually just died from a 3 foot fall onto a carpeted floor!

The Moment is relatively quick (depending on current memory usage), stylish, compact, uber customizable via the downloadable apps, and durably built.  I wish the battery would last longer, but I just keep the USB Charging cable with me -Problem Relatively Solved!

I was initially disappointed with the lack of accessories for the Moment, but I found the neatest case on Amazon.com yesterday and can't wait for delivery (picture attached).

I have nothing but the highest of hopes and expectations for this phone -I think Samsung has made a quantum leap from the Instinct.

I did a ton of research before buying this phone, and I honestly feel it is overall the best out there for android(as of now)....Sure, its a smaller screen than the droid, but its a bit brighter, better viewing angles, and consumes less power..and it was the first android phone with the AMOLED screen, so that is kinda nice, only other one is the nexus one.

800mhz processor compared to droids 575-585mhz, and a better keyboard as well.
Obviously the droid has android 2.0/2.01, but sprint has announced moments will get 2.1 (just like the nexus one has) sometime in H12010, so no advantage to droid there either.  Yea, only a 3.2mp camera, but honestly, most people have stand alone digital cameras for high end stuff anyways...for taking a picture in a bar with your friends, the moments camera is just fine.

The HTC HERO---only advantage it has is Sense UI, which is very nice, but being the very nature of openness of android, I dont consider anything software as an advantage, as hell, we might be able to root our moments and put Sense UI on them if someone gets crafty enough Smiley

In the end, I feel that at this time of whats available(excluding the nexus one which just came out), this phone has the best overall hardware package, and it will get even better once we are running 2.1 on it. (also battery life should improve with improved cpu scalling in 2.1) but remember, our phone sports a 800mhz processor compared to other android phones with 525-585, so our phones will always eat a little more juice when in use, but the lower power consumption of the screen should help offset that.

And all in all, ive been very happy with Samsung's quality in past devices, sure they have probably had a few bad products, but as a major electronics manufacturer, they have been on a steady climb for awhile now. While debatable, I think they have passed Sony in certain areas. (again, not really meaning phones, just electronics in general)

And while there is no fact in this next part, I feel samsung will be first to market with a 4G phone...sprint/clear, samsung, google are all part of the open handset alliance, and I honestly will not be terribly surprised to see a Moment 2 hit last Q 2010 with a 4-5 inch screen, 1ghz processor, 4G & 3G radios, and possible running VOIP factory from sprint.
I dont know about the rest of the states, but here in Texas, they have rolled out 4G big time, its in every major city, and most smaller ones too! (Hillsboro Texas has 4G...thats crazy..Hillsboro is like 20-30k people, that includes all the people driving through it on I35 as well!)

ok, off my soapbox now Smiley  but if you are on the fence...buy a Moment, you wont regret it

btw, technically the Nexus One is the best out as of now, however going to Tmobile was not an option for me, so my comments are based on the CDMA versions that were available to me.

There are three things I love about "Un Momento", my Samsung Moment:

1. The keyboard. Coming from the Moto Q9c, I was used to a QWERTY keyboard, but the Moment's keyboard is great, even if it is larger than what I am accustomed to. I am getting faster with typing on the hardware keyboard every day!

2. Android. The OS is easy to use and understand. I'm a techie, but the simplicity of Android makes it easy for even my mom to understand how to make my phone work. The quality of the apps is higher than I expected for a 'new' operating system. I've been pleased with all of the apps I've downloaded and used so far.

3. The touchscreen. It is responsive and looks great, even in the sun. I impress my friends with the colors and screen alone.

Yeah there's a website i belong too, and they did a comparison between iphone and droid, and for some reason iphone won, because the people say the slide out (moving parts) will break, get ruined by debrie build up... etc.... i don't see it happening, i got the moment b/c of the bright screen, i love that, it's the main reason i got it, i had the hero before, and like it too, but the moment is better in the end  Grin

Simply put, the device is comparable to entry-level netbooks. Typing in terminal apps or cmd line would be tiresome over a serious duration no doubt. But with a simple adapter I can alleviate that matter. Really, with the majority of this entire level of mobile experience being "fresh" this device is a great platform for many reasons. Have a look at the specs of an Asus Eee PC below. Comparable is what I'd call the Moment and the current "roll-outs" in the AndroidOS line-ups.
