I've had my Moment since sometime in late 2009. Earlier this year, it stopped receiving a signal all together. Reboot, remove battery, nothing worked. The Sprint store replaced it. Took a couple of days, but it was replaced. The Moment I have now (android 2.1) has some similar problems that the first one had before it lost connectivity all together. Randomly stops receiving data (the little EV box doesn't even show up), stops receiving data over phone and wifi. The only fix is turning the phone off and on (which takes forever). It also has the problem of turning it self off and I have to remove the battery to get it to start again. It has also been turning down my notification volume on it sown.

This happens every 1-2 days. Some times more than once a day.

I'm so angry at the performance of what I have seen from Samsung on their phone. It seems like this phone is completely half baked. I've seen where other users also have problems with their moment. How happy are the folks here?

Quick Boot app helps so you dont have to pull the battery, just use the reboot widget. Yea the Moment has had this problem and everybody knows it but wont admit it officially. I got fed up and payed cash for an EVO. I didn't want the hero as what they will offer as a replacement if you complain enough.  Also try the cdma lockup zip in the development section it may help, but after a while the lock ups will creep up on you again.

Some Less expenisve products have a reset  so  all youhave to do is  press it, rather pull a batt. and  well there you go,  way to go Samsung?

LOCKING....this is a known issue! it is documented all over the forums and even in your 2 links that you posted!

in the future do NOT spam the forums and use the search button

anyone that is unhappy with the samsung moment due to the data loss issue should take their phone to a local sprint service center and demand a replacement phone of another type NOT another moment
