Hey all! I've spent the past 2 years with a samsung upstage on Sprint, and honestly it wasn't a bad little phone. I was tired of dealing with smartphones (I had had a PPC-6700, and then a PPC-6800 beforehand) because the data plans were ungodly expensive, the sorry excuse for web access was a waste of money... there really were no good points.

Well, that seems to have changed. I recently passed my CCNA exam, and purchased myself a Samsung Moment since my contract with sprint was up. My god, I think I'm in love. And that's AFTER using my housemates iphone regularly. This can do so much more. I love it.

I purchased the moment because other than multi-touch, its the most powerful android hardware out there atm (at least in comparison to sprint's other offerings - verizon plans are too expensive, though I think its still about 266mhz faster than the moto droid). I figure when i finally get the update to 2.x that hardware will pay off, especially when flash 10 comes out.

So, yeah, long post, but hi! Smiley

Welcome to the forum!  Yeah smartphones have come a long way from the bricks that they used to call blackberries.  :-)  Welcome to the new era

Welcome and yes the Moment is the best spec phone on the market now.  It is very underrated because of 1.5 but will get the proper respect once 2.0 is out.  We might get multi-touch with 2.0 also.

whether or not we beat the droid is debatable. They're both great phones though

ironically i have the M800 instinct and like it more than the S30. but for some reason that moment just looks awesome to me. i guess ive always been the one to pull for the under dog.

Haha I agree!! When they finally released the picture of the Droid I was like, "....seriously? That's it? Wtf?"

It may be nice on the inside but it's ugly as hell.

I think the Moment is very attractive. Nicely rounded off but not too rounded off that it would make certain buttons hard to get to or hard to hold.
