Not sure what to say here. I bought the Moment because the PalmOS was discontinued and I didn't like the Palm Pre hardware. I have always used Palm handheld devices since the PalmIII (yeah I know you probably think im old). Anyway, there are a few things that attracted me to it. The first is that is is all integrated with Google and I use tons of Google tools like the Webmaster Tools, Gmail obviously, Wave, Google Voice etc. The other is that it is a lightweight portable Linux system so it fits seamlessly with my job as a Linux systems administrator, the Wi-Fi tools and network discovery are very useful but I would say the best part about it is my ability to use SSH with ConnectBot so now if any of my clients have issues I don't even need my laptop. Just cell service.

I guess I'm here to get in touch with people that want to test the limits of the device and just do cool s*** with it in general. Now that we've got the 2.1 update i want to root my phone. So I'm starting here.

Welcome Washingtonian.  I'm born and raised in Edmonds, living in Boise now.  I've also been a Palm guys, having 600's-755p's until I got the Moment.  I've recently rooted by upgrading to Noobnl's 1.2.3 ROM...it's not as bad as I thought, but I have yet to get enough courage to do this http://forum.sdx-developers.com/roms/joeykrim-sdx-kernel-android-2-1-de03-v0-5/ as well.  One day I'll drink enough to try it
