Voicemail/Text Message/E-mail Notification Ringer

Hi Everyone-

If this topic has been covered, please forgive me--I have been looking through the posts, but...

I can only see one notification option to assign a ringer to, so my voicemail, e-mail and text all have the same ringer--no differentiation.  Remember when the Instinct did that?  The thing is you could assign both the text and the voicemail ringer individually, they just alerted you with the same ringer (until the long-awaited update came out to fix that).

I tried using an android app like Handcent but I didn't have much luck there, because while momentarily it appeared to allow me to have a voicemail ringer that was different from the text ringer--it now (the text ringer) played at the same time as the handcent alert text ringer.  Only way to stop it was to disable one or the other, and then I was back where I started.

Did I miss something?  Is there a setting that individualizes these ringers from one another, or are we just supposed to guess (when we're not near our phones) and we here that one ringer, what type of alert we've received?

Ths is my first time posting sorry if this is the wrong place. I by accident set my ringtones and notifications to my music and I would like to have the option of the android tones and ringtones. I can't figure out how to get back.
