Must have ZE10.2 and up in order to use Theme.zip

First thing you must do is download the enclosed ”C14_theme_template.zip” and place one copy on your phones SDcard and another in a place you will remember on your computer(you can use this zip to create your own themes, but that is for another post) If not making your own theme you can download one of the ready made ones posted here or at sdx-developers-themes open(not decompress) with 7zip or winrar and navigate to /system/app and delete any of the Sprint programs that you do not want re-added to your phone then put the theme.zip on your sdcard (make sure these zips are on the root(not within a folder) of the sdcard)

                        Theme.zip method
Next boot your phone into Recovery Mode (volume down>call>end call and hold until recovery menu loads) and find the three following options:
Clear Dalvik cache(post maxdamage recovery 2.0 located in Data options)
Apply (any) zip from sd
reboot system now

1) Scroll to the “Clear Dalvik Cache” option and select it and press the home key to confirm.
2) Once complete scroll to the option “Apply from any zip from SD” and find the ”CL14_theme_template.zip” and select it and hit the home key to confirm.
3) You will now see it applying the zip.
4) Once this is complete scroll to the reboot phone option “reboot system now” and select,
Phone will now reboot keep in mind that this first reboot will take a while (up to 5 min).
4) Once your phone is fully booted back up into android turn your phone back off and reboot into Recovery Mode using the same method as above.
5)Once back into recovery clear Dalvik cache again.
6)After that is complete go back to select your new theme.zip and apply.
7)Once done applying reboot your phone (again this will take take a while again)
once back into android BAMM your new theme should now be applied. If not you may want to make sure that you have a clean theme.zip and clear dalvik cache and try again.

                  Trouble shooting

If on the first boot into the new theme the screen hangs.,  either stuck on what is considered a "boot loop" or just a black screen.  It has been reported that sounds from service connection will go off as well as being able to bring down the notification bar.  a simple reboot will solve the problem.

This is a most complete guide to the best of my abilities as a writer. If there are errors please let me know and I will correct or clarify.

Happy themeing
Dale

for those that dont know and cant google, balian, Wink BBcode is the bullitin board version of HTML. its what makes cnstars guide look so clean and crisp. I know basics but indenting and such still escapes me.

this is an excellent how to.  very nicely done and easy to follow.  i will be referencing this from here on out.

on something to add, im not sure if yall experience this too but sometimes on the first boot into the new theme, the screen may hang.  either stuck on what is considered "boot loop" or just a black screen.  it has been reported that sounds from service connection will go off as well as being able to bring down the notification bar.  a simple reboot will solve the problem.  also, occasional acore force closures but are harmless.

Great tutorial, I read it, and 5 minutes and a battery-pull later, I had a new N1 them from over @ SDX.
I have to modify it a bit though, the notification bar is black and the notification text is black

Ok, so I've been through the steps 3 or 4 times and still no worky. Everytime I apply from sd card after clearing the delvic cache and it reboots it goes in the boot loop thing. I've tried rebooting and still goes into the boot loop. It goes to the desktop flashes the lights and makes service sound and keeps going back to the android logo. I'm using zefie 10.3 patchoob version. Just looking for a little help cause these themes look pretty cool.

thanks in advance,

travis

When it has the service sounds. Just pull the batttery for 30 sec. Replace battery and turn phone back on. This should fix your issue if not let me know(also make sure that you used the theme template first before a modified theme.zip

still no luck. Yes I was/am using the template supplied in this thread. Same results everytime. Although the last time I never heard the service sounds, but i gave quite a long time to boot up. pulled battery, went to take a piss, put battery back in and still boot loop. I know I'm a newbie at this but I'm pretty sure I'm very good at following instructions. So I don't know.

thanks,

travis

Does your phone fully boot after theme_template install.  If yes make sure you clear dalvik cache before applying the new theme.  If no make sure that you download a fresh theme_template.zip and apply again.

No I could never get it to fully boot after applying the cl14 template theme.zip. I never even tried applying the 2nd them cause i thought it would be worthless. I just downloaded it last night from your 1st post on this thread, I should download it again? Do I have to rename it or anything like that. I'm assuming I don't do anything to it just stick it on sd card and not within a folder either. I even tried running ZE12.1 patchoob to see if that would make a difference.
