I have PlayOn but was wondering if there is a way to get it to work with the Moment. I thought I read a post in here a while back that mentioned something like that but nothing comes up in a search. Any info would be appreciated.

So far I've been using tv.com and Skyfire to view online videos.  PlayOn would be great if they make it work for Android, the I'd only have to use one app to view online streams of videos.  I still haven't found a good player that works w/ Orb so I can stream videos from my PC.

Are you using the www.mycast.orb.com to view your PC's videos? If you have the orb app on your PC then just go there from your phone and access your files: video, audio, picture...I found out the best settings using this in Android is to use "Desktop" mode in Skyfire and set the stream to "Flash." Makes quite a bit of difference. Still have to try some vids more than once to get them to play, but when they do play the quality is very good on Wi-Fi and actually pretty good on 3G too. No buffering or out of sync audio for me.

I've got it set to Desktop mode, but I can't find a setting anywhere for Flash mode.  Can you tell me the steps to get to that setting?

Of course. Once you log into www.mycast.orb.com look at the top right corner of the screen and click on "Settings." Then click "Streaming Formats" if not already highlighted and just select "Orb Flash Player." It hasn't been working as well for me lately so let me how it works for you.

Thanks for that...I wasn't sure between going onto the website of just checking the ORB icon next to the clock.  I tried seeing if things streamed better via my phone, but of course I had the stupid rectum dropped internet issue happen where it says EV but only the up arrow, so I have to reset the phone...again.

You probably already know this but make sure you are logged on to Orb from the computer also (from the icon in the task bar).  Of course that will be obvious if you try to log into mycast.orb.com from your phone lol. I'm working on some different settings right now to see if I have any better luck.

Update: I got it working again. Here's what I did...

First off, I was experimenting with Wi-Fi on when I finally got it to work but from past experience, it will work with 3G too. When you go to www.mycast.orb.com use the stock browser instead of Skyfire. This brings up a different looking Orb site once you log in which, in my opinion, is easier to navigate. Once you log in, go to settings and then stream and select 3gp-AAC/RTSP format (.3gp) then save and exit Whenever you make a selection it should ask you which browser you want to use. I always select the stock browser until I get to the actual video I want to play. When you select your video if it asks you to choose a browser again, it shouldn't matter which one you choose at this point. I've tried the stock and Skyfire and they both play the videos.
3G quality should be pretty decent if you have actual 3G. I have 2G or whatever it is and videos are choppy but I have gotten them to play before on it. Good luck and let me know if you try this and if it works OK for you.

I was wondering about the 3GP setting I saw.  I had it on WMP beforehand.

Stupid question, but how in the hell do I know if I'm streaming in 3G?  All I've ever seen is EV D, EV with up and down arrows, or the annoying a$$ 1x that causes all my streaming music to stop playin when I use TuneWiki.

I'm not exactly sure, this may be a question that a Sprint rep would know more about because I asked them about it too. Best I can tell, 1x is basically sub-3G, as in 2.5G or whatever it is. The EV thing I think is supposed to be 3G but like I said I'm not 100% sure on that. When I'm at home mine always shows 1x, which if that is less than 3G speed it would make sense since I don't have 3G where I live. When I see the EV D symbols my data is faster and it's usually in bigger cities where I'm sure they have 3G, which would also make sense.

From the manual (pp 132-133) emphasis added:

EV: Your device is connected to the high-speed Sprint Mobile Broadband Network (EVDO). When the arrows are animated, your device is transferring data (for example, when you are opening a Web page); when the triangles are gray, your device is connected to the network but is not currently transferring data (for example, when you are viewing a Web page that is completely open). In either state, you can receive incoming calls.

1G: Your device is on and is connected to the Sprint 1xRTT data network. When the arrows are animated, your device is transferring data (for example, when you are opening a Web page) and you cannot receive calls. When the arrows are gray, your device is connected to the network but is not currently transferring data (for example, when you are viewing a Web page that is completely open), and you can receive calls.

I never see EV at my house. Only the 1G. Very frustrating. Also, the difference in when you can and can't receive calls is interesting.

I wonder how many calls I'm missing by only being in 1x mode then?  I still wanna know what, with as advanced as phones are getting, why this thing won't allow me to talk and be on the internet at the same time.  Hell, my Treo did a few times on accident, so I know it's possible to make it work...just how.
