I know how to delete them from the home page, but how do I get rid of them for good? I went to menu, settings, applications, manage application. I see all the apps, but there is no option to delete them. What am I supposed to do?

If you are talking about ones you had dled fromt he market. you just open the market, go to my downloads, and click on the ones you want to uninstal and do so. now the stock Sprint apps are a little more difficult. follow the tutorial here

Thanks for the instructions, but they don't seem all that clear to me.
Am I supposed to download the SDK to a computer and connect the phone via USB?
I just dont want to end up bricking my phone.

Deleting a bejeweled demo and Nascar event apps shouldn't be that hard. WTF Samsung?

I found that having root on the phone and using Droidexplorer is way easier than the command prompts.
I used it to get rid of the unwanted apps and change my Boot animation.

Fyi dayvedayve you don't have tohave root on the phone to use droid explorer. Root is automatic when in recovery.
