You shouldn't need the drivers to access the memory card.  Does the usb icon show up in your notifications now? If so, open that and click mount usb. Then the phone should show up as an external device in my computer.

I'm having the same problem, yet the debugging icon is already checked off. Anyone have any more suggestions. It worked the first time yet, after I disconnected my phone the USB icon no longer appears.

Supermanlee: did you unmount the sd card? Its possible that it just won't let you mount it again until it is uunmounted from the last time...

By "checked off", do you mean it has a check mark or not? It should not have a check mark if you want to be able to mount your phone as a usb drive.

I'm having the same issue.  I can connect to my laptop at home but get nothing when I hook up to my work computer.  Debugging is off.  Last night, on my laptop, I hit the safely remove hardware icon and then unplugged the usb.  Today, I plug in the usb to my work computer and it charges but I do not get the mount option on the phone or found new hardware on the computer.

Anything I should try?

It turns out to be the usb cable.  I bought one for work and it doesn't seem to work for anything but charging the phone.  I took the cable home last night and plugged it into my laptop along side the original cable.  I could plug in the original and hook up completely and then hook up the second cable and get nothing but charging.

This is because even tho it looks like an universal micro usb it is not. It is still a proprietary plug.
