I am giving up for now but I did come across something cool. Not sure if has been posted but if you like the GMAIL app - you can import your yahoo into it. Found this on the web..

Go into gmail (via the web) Settings > Accounts and Import. From there you can funnel everything into your main gmail account and use the gmail app on the Moment to manage up to 5 separate accounts.

Going to try it out and see how it works.

works so far on my end, another good tip. one thing i would like that i cant find is to be able to compose and email now from the gmail app but send it from the yahoo or another account.

I found this elsewhere and it works fine. Props to whoever wrote it:

This is using the stock email widget on the home screen.

Enter your yahoo email: blahblahblah@yaho..com
Enter Password
Then press Manual setup
Next Select IMAP account
enter user name: blahblahblah
Password (it should be filled out already)

IMAP server should read
imap.mail.yahoo.com
port
143(this could be different on yours, so leave it)
Press Next.

For smtp server:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
port:
25

This worked for me. Hopefully it helps you

The settings for incoming worked for a few days. Now it is saying it does recognize the username or password again. Outgoing is still working fine. This is driving me nuts!!

Try downloading K9 mail.  It is a lot better, has more features.  The thing I like most is you can hit the backspace/delete key on the keyboard to delete messages and it is fast and they actually delete.

Delete all your accounts out of the built in mail program, download and install k9, great work K9 team.  Once it is all installed, turn your phone off, pull the battery for a while, then start it back up and setup all your accounts in it.  I don't delete mail off the server from my p.hone.

It works great, I have 4 accounts setup and it all works like my Blackberry used to.

ok - here is what i am filling out.

After clicking manual > pop account

username: xxxx (no @yahoo.com)
password: already entered from previous screen
pop3 server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
port:110
security type: none
delete blah blah: never

I click "Next" and it says checking incoming server settings....

Then I get  this error message
"Setup could not finish - Username or password incorrect"

I am bound and determined to get this to work  Angry

exact same thing happens for me...

Tripndrag, How do you get K-9 to automatically check mail. I went to menu > more > account settings > folder poll check frequency and changed it to 15 minuts..but it doesn't seem to work. Not sure if that' s the right one.

Another question with K9 - Is it supposed to provide any notifications (either audible or visual) when emails are received?  Huh

I don't see anything when I receive an email other than actually opening up the application and seeing the number of "new" emails. I was hoping it would notify me when I received an email by just looking at the phone....

You should be getting a notification just like the native email apps.  Check through your settings on K9.

I am so disgusted with this Yahoo thing!  I've had a Yahoo email account for 12 years, and now with the Android OS am unable to use it properly.  I've tried everything thats been suggested in prior posts.  Is there any other way that people have found to make this work? Thanks

you can forward your email to your gmail account....it is not practical but thats how i am doing it now, just using the gmail app on the phone and have all my email accounts forwarded to my phones gmail account.....if you log into gmail there is account settings and then forwarding on the top tab

I was able to setup my yahoo mail initially on the phone, but it goes into and out of the mode where it says it can't recognize the username/password combination.  I believe this is due to me being signed in on my home PC and ask yahoo to remember my login for two weeks or so.

Every once in a while I'm able to get my yahoo mail back on my phone, but the truth is I'm not a big fan of the email interface and much prefer yahoo's web interface.  So, I created a bookmark shortcut to yahoo mail for the browser and check yahoo mail that way.
