I have my Moment set up for Comcast e-mail. Everything works except when I delete a message from the In-Box, the mail is supposed to be deleted from my Comcast Acct so I do not have to delete twice. In account settings I have selected the option that says Delete email from server "When I delete from Inbox".

Any idea why this is not deleting the message from the server? My prior Instinct worked perfectly.

No replies in over a month.

Doesn't anyone have any idea?

Or possibly know why my I have this phone set up to check for email every 5 minutes but it does not reliably do so? I can go all day without any email being downloaded, yet when I check my email account I have 40 emails. Sometimes it works, but about 80% of the time it doesn't. If I open the email app, it will sync then.

I'm disappointed in the reliability and functionality of the email on this phone, which is one of the main items I must have work for business purposes.

I'm not sure how to get it to work with comcast mail. If i was you i would set up a gmail account and forward your comcast mail to that account, then use the native gmail app.

Is it possible to send standalone delete events back to a POP3 server? I know you can fetch mail from one (of course), and that at that time it can delete the messages from the server or keep them around, but I am not at all sure it can delete something after the fact.

If Comcast used IMAP, this would not be an issue. But Comcast sucks, and so they do not.

hokansoc's idea isn't a bad one at all, other than the confusion of people emailing to the Comcast address and getting a reply back via Gmail. But it would definitely get you IMAP access to your email.

Comcast mail has always been an issue for me as well I really don't think that there is a fix for it ...alI want to do is receive and send emails nothing more and it's always failing

I really have tried to like this phone and hate to give up on it however life is way too short for all the aggravation it has caused so I just might dig out the old Treo and down grade to have reliable email and phone service.

Sort of sad
