I'm a big hockey fan. I used to have a text messaging service that would send me text updates during San Jose Sharks games, so I can follow the game if I can't watch it if I'm out and about or something. It was generally accurate within a minute or two.
As a result I WANT to love SportsTap and / or Google Scoreboard, because they have widgets and are supposed to integrate exactly that into the Android Notification system. But I can't, because they are NOWHERE NEAR timely. When you are sending me a notification to tell me the third period has started, and I look up at the TV and it's half over, that's worthless. When the game is over, you've won 2-1, and the widget on the phone is still telling me you're down 1-0 in the early third period (even when you tell it to update every minute), that's worthless.
It's REALLY frustrating because it would be GREAT if either of these worked, but they just don't.
Does anyone know of an app that DOES work? Ideally I'd want alerts at: start and end of game, end of each period, and when a goal is scored.
