purchased apps should be in the download history of the market.  free apps come from memory (or a good backup).

WHen they upgraded the firmware it puts the phone back to its original state when you purchased it.

Correct, so if you log back into the market with the same account you used to purchase the apps, then go into the option "My Downloads" and you should see your list of purchased apps.

Nice thing is too, Google allows you to do this any number of times  Grin

Ok help me out here. On my phone I have an icon that says MARKET. When I go into it there isn't any account. It just takes me to APPLICATIONS then a list....theres no account. Are we talking about the Gmail account I need to set up originally? When I went to purchase these all I had to do was enter my credit card and it downloaded. When I look into the Download there is nothing there..

I believe it's the GMail account you initially setup before the update. You'll need to setup that GMAIL account now.

I did...and its not there either. Angry Don't understand why the sprint store didn't back them up for me so I wouldn't loose them before updating the firmware. Guess I have to purchase them all again at this point.

Hi:

This is not a Sprint problem but a Google one. They're intentionally set up their system so users cannot restore backed up applications and have Market downloads recognize them for future upgrades. Google has no customer service and it is impossible to contact them at this time.

That being said, even if your paid applications don't show up in the market, I'm sure the developers won't make you pay again. You should be able to contact them by Googling the app.

Also, Android 2.1 is coming down the line so we're all going to have to do it all over again. Get AppDragon, a free app, which will email you a list of your applications, paid and free. If you use Dolphin Browser, you can sync your bookmarks to your Google account for easy restore. I'm using Sprite Backup, costs 99 cents, and it will backup SMS messages, your phone log, wallpaper, ringtones, pictures and so on. There are probably free apps that do the same thing.

Count on hours of work each time an update comes out.

You can also backup using Astro.  However when re-installing, you do not get them 'registered' in the market, so no updates.  Though, when you have downtime, you can individually reinstall from the market (same as appdragon)

Ok so when you open the market app. There isn't
Applications
Games
Search
My downloads(this is where all apps dl'ed with your account should be)

If your narket app doesn't have these let me know and ill try and figure it out.

i also thought all your paid apps are tied to your credit card / google account, so you're able to just install it again...  i may be mistaken though...
