In July my wife and I both got Moments.  After a couple months I noticed that the Nuance on mine was having problems...the volume of the Nuance voice was so quiet that I could barely hear it.  I mentioned it at the Sprint store and they ordered a replacement.  After about 5 weeks of having the replacement I was noticing the Nuance problem + it was much slower and jerkier + the Sprint Nav was taking forever to work.

The picture below shows our two phones side by side running an app called GPS test.
My phone on the left shows ZERO GPS satelites.  My wife's phone shows NINE GPS satelites.  WTF!

I've combed though the settings on both phones and they are identical.

I noticed this problem on mine after it was replaced also.  I never got the GPS to work right again.  I am getting a HTC EVO now so that I can end my troubles with Samsung phones.

I went in to the Sprint store again to request a replacement.  Well, now they don't carry the Moment anymore.  It's discontinued.  In order to get a replacement it has to be either the Samsung Intercept or the HTC Hero.

I'm feeling like both are a downgrade.  The Hero doesn't have the keyboard and it doesn't support voice command over bluetooth.  The Intercept has a lower resolution screen (ugly).  Basically Sprint is screwing me.  Either live with diminished features or replace it with diminished features.

is the phone with no satellite issues updated to dj07?? i personally had no gps for MONTHS till recently running a custom rom that is based off dj07 and i now have working gps again....there are also topics around the web about the gps antenna coming undone internally but the sprint store would have to troubleshoot that

p.s. maybe its that snazzy red case on her phone...lol  Tongue

Yes, it's updated to dj07.  I went into the Sprint store again today and they have some Moments in stock again so I ordered a replacement.  It should arrive in a couple days.  I'll do the same test on it when I get it.

My second Moment replacement just arrived on Friday.  The gps on this one works but not nearly as well as my wifes.  I get great reception in the open showing up to 9 satelites, but in my car only if I keep the phone under the windshield.  The roof seems to block too much.

After lots of experimenting I have found one downstairs room in my house where I can get up to 5 satelites.  It's tricky.  It helps to have the phone in a vertical position.

But here's a BIG SUPRISE!  If I simply plug in the earphones that came with the phone I can get 6 pretty reliably and up to 9 inside my house.  WOW!  That's impressive.  How the wire is positioned seems to make some difference.  Having some of the wire (or at least the parts closest to the phone) above the phone seems to help.  Having the wire horizontal like a clothesline is what helped me the most.   Really, I'm excited.  For using it in the car this might help loads.
