I am so not impressed with 2.1. All this anticipation for nothing.
They didn't add any homescreens and didn't even include multi touch. I'm pretty disappointed.   Angry

I know! They really didn't add ANY new features just fixed bugs and problems.  Basically everything stayed the same.  You can add more screens, live wallpapers and the Flan gallery, thanks to the guys at SDX. Multitouch is the only thing that isn't easily added.  Maybe in 2.2?

I don't understand why you were expecting those things. Standard Android 2.1 doesn't actually include any of that, and the Moment has always been on standard Android. The Nexus One and the newer 2.1 HTC phones have non-standard launchers that grant the extra screens and so forth. You can have these as well if you download the Helix launcher (you can add up to 7 or 8 windows). As for multitouch, that may be a hardware limitation. I've never read anything from Sprint or Samsung saying that the Moment was capable of multitouch. Also, I'm not sure the standard Android browser even supports multitouch. Try the Dolphin browser, which I know for a fact does.

More importantly, the new rom does seem to be smoother and my battery life has noticeably improved, which seems to be more important for a phone than having 4 extra windows.

As far as everything I have read the Moment's hardware IS capable of multitouch.  I tend to agree with some of the other posts stating that it's an issue with Apple and their lawsuits.  Hopefully we will see it implemented down the road.

To those of you saying 2.1 didn't add any features, how about you do a little research before you start complaining, please.

Major things 2.1 includes that 1.5 doesn't

* Google Navigation -- by far superior in speed and ease of use to sprint nav
* Google goggles -- lets you search for things and translate stuff merely by taking a picture of it
* Google Voice Search -- Click the microphone on the search bar to search by voice. Also, all text fields have a voice option. Goodbye nuance, hello google.
* Support for far better applications and such -- many many programs were only available to 1.6+... and 2.1 is > 1.6
* Faster -- most early testing shows 2.1 for the moment is far faster and smoother than 1.5 was
* Not a hybrid system -- 1.5 was never supposed to work with CDMA (sprint) so the moment was actually running a mixed version of 1.5/6. we're now on a standardized os.

Do i need to continue? That's not even including the "fun" things like live wallpapers and the new gallery.

Also, as far as multitouch goes, hopefully that will come out eventually, but even without it, 2.1 is miles ahead of 1.5

I think that I've just been on the leaked version for so long now that I overlooked a lot of that stuff.

You don't need to continue, but I will.

I purchased Lock 2.0 which is a slide-unlocker (to unlock the phone easier), but 2.1 includes a slide-unlocker and it is superior to Lock 2.0.

I purchase BetterCut to make shortcuts to messaging, direct calls and websites, but 2.1 includes that feature, plus the ability to make shortcuts to navigation places.

2.1 also includes a widget to quickly toggle wifi, gps, bluetooth, etc.

Their is an auto-flash setting on the camera so it will automatically use the flash in low-light conditions.

There are a few missing features from the 2.1 update, but there are apps or other ways to get those features installed.

How? I don't use the camera often because it didn't zoom, and just today I tried it and couldn't figure out what I need to do to make it happen.

Im confused.  If we don't have mutlitouch, why do we have to pinch the screen in and out using the stock browser to be able to read anything?  I'm using Opera since it has a mobile mode so I can avoid that.  Am I missing something, and what exactly are we missing out on by not having multitouch?
