with 1.5 on mmy moment i never got over 20kb/s upload speeds, and i would test many different locations/towers, but since putting 2.1 i'm getting upload speeds equal to the download around 125kb/s!  anyone else notice this? and im curious as to why this would be if anyone happens to know....

Was that a typo and you meant 200 kb/s or was it really 20 kb/s?  What site were you testing it with?

I'm still on 1.5, CL14, and I usually average at least 600kb/s.

Just ran speedtest.net app and here are my current download and upload speeds:

Download - Upload
704 - 128
673 - 132
829 - 133

Average: 733 kb/s download, 131 kb/s upload.

(this is not my screenshot, just showing speedtest.net for those who haven't used it before)

Download that app and post your score to compare apples to apples.

Are you guys getting your stats mixed up or is it just me? How can you reach speeds of 16.49 Mbps when the speedtest app only goes to 10 Mbps? And I'm guessing you guys are testing it with wifi on? If that's the case, mine is

914 kB/s Down (kbps = 7316, Mbps = 7.14)
87.5 kB/s Up    (kbps = 700, Mbps = 0.68)

I'm on 1.5 CL14

Sound pretty good or normal to you guys?

We both put kb/s not Mb/s.

A friend was bragging about his Iphone download speeds, but once we both used the speedtest.net app, the Iphone couldn't compete with the Moment.

I'll have to tell my brother that (iPhone owner). I'll see if I can get him to install the speedtest app and run a test so I can rub it in his face  Tongue

No I am not kidding.  i'm not a noob, i used that same app (speedtest app) on a weekly basis and on 3G speeds  i am located in portland maine.  the fastest 3G speeds i get is in the 220's.  i have always gotten upload of 20kb/s until this update.  so i am assuming i had a defective code or something in my phone?

Not to get off the 2.1 topic, but I'm with Petrosclark. I'm on 1.5 CL14 in the suburbs of Detroit, and I just ran SpeedTest.Net: 246 kbps down / 186 kbps up.  That's pretty much the average I've seen. Is this a Network issue? Not enough close towers? I love this phone!!! But it's disheartening to hear how great everyone's speeds are, when I'm sort of lagging behind. Good on you for the speeds though. Just slightly jealous. Ok, not slightly. Really, truly jealous.
