Radio Shack associate here.Policy on phones is always a repair plan, but lately I've been seeing some of the lower end phones with Replacement Plans
Replacement Plan: Basically, you call a number, tell them it's defective, give them a ton of info they already have, they send you a shipping label, you mail it to them, they send you a gift card with the amount you paid so you can re-buy what you lost. As you can see, this would be infeasible for many of the newer or contract phones, such as the moment. This sually applies to pre-paid phones, when I see it ona hpone at all.
Replacement plans usually have a 1 yr or 2 yr option, and can run from $3 all the way up to $75 or a little more on big items.
Repair Plan: This is what I see on phones, and it usually runs between $75 and $129 for nicer contract phones. It works like this: You call a number on a brochure, tell them somethings wrong, try and determine what problem is, if it is defective or needs repair, they send you a shipping label. You send it to them, they fix it you pick it up at a Radio Shack near you or they send it to your house. Alternately, you can send it from a radio shack to start with. Usually repairs are done in a couple of weeks, but I've seen bad ones take as long as 6 weeks. TV's and computers and such.
Honestly, the plans are good, and they cover more than one repair/replacement. Also, if you have to have a lot of repairs or all your items end up being defective or some other unfortunate steam of events occurs, you can usually finagle some sort of discount/free upgrade out of the situation.
Oh, also, the plans, both repair and replacement cover bad batteries and a bad battery replacement. I think. Our policies change a lot, so don't quote me on that. I always end up reading our company newsletter each morning to find some other major change has happened to our wireless policies. Sheesh!

Hope some of this helps.
