Sprint considers these devices throw away and would not be served well financially by investing and supporting the current Hero and Moment given how their stock is pummeling.

More importantly is that Sprint feels you (the customers) are throw-away and disposable.  That's how they lost 80,000 subscribers over a very short period. Crappy service, faulty devices, and marginal coverage.

In the Telcom industry it is a rough number that each customer costs between $300 - $400 to secure the cost to acquire a customer).

Of course, after 2 years, or 10 years, you are treated no better by Sprint.  If you buy the phones through them you really do not receive any discount as the prices are jacked up much higher than the 5-6 alternate sourced options for the same phone without having been a loyally screwed customer  of long-standing.

I've been with Sprint since they were a company - more than 20 years.  Since being a cell carrier, more than 10 years.  I've caluclated that it has actually cost me money to remain loyal to Sprint.
I have to ask....if you hate Sprint and the Moment is such a bad phone why did you buy it and subscribe to Sprint's service. There are three other big companies and countless small ones to choose from. Almost every post you have made thus far seems to trash them. I understand that sprint can piss you off, but dude scale it back a little.

People don't get it do they? Call and complain to sprint....complaining here does NOTHING. Complain to sprint...tell them you have been a customer for 20 years. Tell them that your sick and tired of it...But you dont get it....Leave sprint....go play the same corporate bs with verizon, tmobile, atnt, or whoever. Trust me...its the same game, with different coaching staff. Go pay more money for Verizon service and have some other problem, go to tmobile to get cheaper phones and plans....with crappy reception/3g....Go to ATnT and pay a mixture of mid level pricing and mid level reception....its a game people. This contract bs is all just that....bs...if you have had a cell phone for 20 years through sprint and you dont know how to play this game...I suggest you retire from having a cell phone. This is not bashing you dude but this is supposed to open your eyes to focus on the game or your going to get beat....And if you are getting beat then maybe your need to turn your Favre on.... (man that guy is a BEAST, I beat if Drew Brees got hit that much he would be getting in his limo to his mommy's to cry in her lap) Seriously. No insult intended....if you want lessons I'm sure you can start by reading how some of us got the deals we got. Let me assure you....I have been 82 days behind on my bill...and they kept working with me to keep my cell phone on. I'm about up to date now....I owe this months bill so I'm pretty much up to date...but they worked with me. They will continue to work with me because they know eventually I'll get my bill paid. I have been out of work since Feb of 09 and I'm running off of mowing lawns, shoveling snow, fixing computers, and school loan money. First this to do is call and complain...wait until something happens like a dropped call or something...then throw a itch-fit and say you want to cancel...get to that dept and complain and complain...dont give them time to speak...that will tell them how upset you are. Usually they offer you something....counter offer with a slightly better deal (if it meets your standards) I'm a christian so I wouldn't tell you to lie....thus why I said wait until something breaks. Your already upset so figure something out. Thats the only advice I can give you.

However back on topic....I hope we get 2.1 by mid feb...however I want it working completely...I don't just want it WORKING...but optimized.... animated backgrounds....would be sweet....but I want it running smoothly!!

I didn't completely clarify.  By "costing me money," my implications is that I retained an account with them while I obtained a Verizon plan for our 13 employees in the Monterey, CA area.  I kept the Sprint account because the per/minute deal offered to the hospital 10 years ago was unmatched by any competitor.  However, due to requiring a high level of reliability (never the strength of Sprint in that Central CA.) sought out a competitor for a business deal.  Fact of the matter, over a five year period, the Sprint rep was the only one who didn't keep their scheduled meetings.

I'm usually do not respond when someone is popping off personal comments as that seems to be a comfort zone and safe haven for many on the Internet. It only makes the attacking party appear foolish.
