Sorry in advance if Im asking a question thats already been answered, I did look for it, but never really found it.

When my phone is 'sleeping', I dont seem to get my notices - texts, emails, and sometimes even phone calls.  I need to hear my notices the minute they come in, not have all of them hit me whenever I wake up the phone.  If I leave the phone on 24/7, we all know that I'd have to charge it 5 times or just leave it plugged in.

So, I ask you, is there a setting somewhere that I have wrong that I need to fix?  Or does anyone know of an app that I need to install?  What can I change that will fix this?  Anyone?   Thanks again.

missed reminder. Its not that you don't get your notifications, its that you don't notice. Cheesy  Most of the time at least. Missed reminder will remind you that you missed a text / email / call. And if you install ChompSMS there's a setting for message popup that will turn your screen on and show you who texted you and what they said. that's my advice

Ok, that makes sence.  I was just getting worried that I wasn't getting my messages right when they arrive.  And thanks also for the app tip.  Sounds like what I've been looking for (spent all weekend looking for, actually)  but just hadn't found yet.  Thanks!

To disable the native sms app notifications:

Open the app called "Messaging".
Press menu.
Select settings.
Uncheck "Notifications".
