my treo is turned off and samsung moment is on.  I must get my contacts and calender into my Moment.
I purchased Chapura Pocket Copy. I heard that i could take my palm desktop and copy it into outlook. I did that..( i cannot locate the notes with the contacts) I do not know how to get the info to my Samsung moment.
I am supposed to turn the files into a CSV file. I need to be told step by step what to do...Hope someone can help....i have years of info....and if i cannot...i will return my samsung moment and keep my treo 755p.  thank you
or if anyone knows how to get contacts and calender into my new Moment...please advise..

Step 1:  Get the data off your treo
From what i understand you've already done this and you have it in outlook

Step 2:  Get the data from outlook to your google account

Easiest way to do this:  Google sync

Step 3:  Watch as your google account automatically syncs to your moment

congratulations, you now have a linked system from outlook to google to moment. Any changes done on any of them will affect all three. If you no longer want your outlook to sync after the initial time, delete google sync.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Yes i was able ( with using Chapura Pocket copy) to transfer from my palm desktop contacts, calender, notes, and tasks to outlook.

The link you gave me ..is that for the calender only? or will it do it all?
Do i connect my Samsung moment to my laptop? or does it do it all automatically?

Thanks again

Google sync should transfer everything that is in your outlook. Calendar and contacts.  Google sync will transfer them all to your gmail account. The gmail account will automatically transfer it to your phone. No cables.   Smiley

basically yes. Your new samsung moment is brilliant and will auto-sync with a gmail account. So if you get your contacts and calendar data to google (google sync) it will auto-sync with the phone.

hello and thanks again....please excuse my lack of understanding this system....
I just clicked on the link and went through the down load.  It said sync every 120 minutes ( i do not know what is best)  the icon that they placed on my laptop task bar shows the arrows bobbing up and down so i put my cursur over it and it state 1038 out of 9822 being transferred...so i do not know what i am going to get. The link says calender...Does that include the contacts in the address book of outlook as well ? thanks again,

hello;
Just thought i would bring an update...in case it might help others
I had a treo 755p and had all my info on my laptop in the program called Palm desktop,
I used Pocket Copy and it fast and easily took all my addresses with their notes and the calender and memos and tasks into outlook perfectly.
Then i had lots of problems ( much of it my lack of knowledge ) trying to get the information into the Moment.  I do not know if what i did is the best way, but i tried the free trial of ComapanionLink and it did sync with google and the Moment. However i have duplicates and more.. I have spent countless hours wiping out and redoing. I even went into google and wiped out all contacts so that it would get a new clean contacts from my Outlook...but google seems to have a mind of its own...or i do not have one at all ( which could be the problem )
I do not like the Moment address book...is there a better one>
I also want a search feature.  does any one know if there is one?
I want to rapidly type in a note when i think of something....It just seems like a big deal to do it on the moment....My treo was more effecient...i hope it is only because i am not used to the moment....Thank you all...for all you do.....you are a great help
