Lost all contacts

edit: lost all contacts on samsung moment, original thought was that "bump" caused the issue....it does not look to be the case since below replies have not had the same issue....anyways if anyone has lost all of their contacts please reply with your situation

does anyone here have the app Bump installed on there moment, if so have you actually used it with another phone to bump contacts....another droid, or an iPhone

just need input here i cant comment on the actual app

EDIT: if you do NOT have this app installed currently i would recommend holding off on doing so until i lock this thread if you do read this

I have bump on my moment and I've tried to use the app with the Motorola Droid, MyTouch and an actual iPhone and hasn't worked yet. I keep getting the same error message saying that my phone was the only phone that bumped. Huh

I have it installed. Bumped with an iPhone at xmas. Took 2 trys but it worked.

okay, so do both of you still have all of your contacts on your phone??

my buddy used bump the other day @ the airport with an iPhone a moto droid and something else, well now all EVERY single contact is missing....it is crazy though because for a minute you could scroll this his call log and see every single stored contact name but they disappear instantly and just show the number

this is the only thing i can come up with is that bump wiped his phone somehow

I still have all my contacts, however, I wasn't able to successfully bump so that doesn't prove your theory wrong.

I bumped with a Hero a few weeks ago. Took several times to do so, but it finally worked. I do know that prior to "bumping", it asks what you want to transfer, contact or file. I transfered some pictures to the Hero from my Moment. Prior to "bumping" or during the bump, it wanted me to add him to my contact and his info... possibly something happened there. That's the only thing that I could think would cause the issue. My phone what fine after I "bumped".

uhhhh... strange. Bummer for you/your friend.

That is strange. It worked exactly like it was supposed to for me. All that we did was exchange our contact info though. All my contacts are intact plus the one I bumped.

alright cool guys thanks for the input, guess he will just have to deal with it.....the worst part is were out of state atm and he is visiting his home town with NO numbers to all his buddy's haha

they sure dont.....theres about 5 email addresses and that is it, not even sure of the relevance of them

oh well i am going to change the title of this thread and see if anyone has had an issue with just losing their contacts to see if its not the app

I have all of my contacts backed up to my spare gmail once a week for this specific reason. I didn't start doing this until I got my android.....call me paranoid. Heeeyyy...a rhyme.
