Has anyone seen the commercials for Sprint lately talking about the 4G network? They have the Moment being used as a 4G phone. Is that saying that our Monment's will do 4G? Frank

Yep, when i log into sprint now, I get a popup telling me I am in a 4G area, and do I want to signup for a plan and get a free 4g modem. I don't want or need 4g for my laptop, I want my phone to be 4g, but I sure as hell ain't paying more than I already do, so if its just a new plan option, I will pass for now.

our moments do not have the hardware for 4G.....maybe the moment 2
the commercial youre reffering to is probably just directed to make you or any other customer to think the moment or any phone for that matter has 4G right now.....there is only one phone rumored to have 4G anytime soon btw

Yeah I saw that commercial during the race yesterday. Kind of pissed me off with the false advertizing. Dale

Not totally false advertising. If you look closely at the ad, it shows a MiFi device on the table in his hand. The Moment is connected to that via wifi.

Have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot?

At :09, you can see he's holding the Moment in his right hand and the MiFi device in his left. Sprint Commercial with DS

Ah, my mistake. I was focusing on the the Moment wondering WTF it was doing with 4g.
My apologies.

No worries. It isn't false, but is definitely misleading. Still, nice to see the Moment get some airtime. I guess Sprint wanted to wait to get the update out before pushing this phone. Mine is much better after the update.

Just saw that commercial last night and didn't think much of it since 4G isn't available where I live anyway. Heck, Sprint coverage overall is spotty around here, lol! But yea, I didn't even notice he was using mifi. It is rather misleading.

In the commercial he's connected his Moment via wifi to his laptop's 4G connection. He just doesn't say that's what he's doing. The commercial tries to show briefly how you can use your phone to take advantage of the hotspot's 4G speed via wifi and, say, stream a movie on it, which I guess would be faster than over 3G.
