I returned my moment back in January due to issues with battery life and programs running unwanted in the background that refused to stay killed by task killer and the application manager. My sprint contract is up next month and i need to get a new phone because i opted to go back to my old phone when i returned the moment, i want to know if the cl 14 update and the soon coming android 2.1 update resolved these issues enough where i should get this phone for another try

The CL14 update gave me excellent battery life.  The 2.1 update has been comparable to that, though not quite as good.  I still get a full day out of it.

thank you, have you had any issues with texts not being sent or received with the moment also? that was another major problem i had, as well as AIM messages not being received while the screen was off and in sleep mode. i loved the phone itself but these things drove me crazy if they are no longer an issue i would gladly buy the phone again, thank you for the assistance

Now that one I can't help you with.  I've never had any problems with messaging(other than the occassional network problem) since day one.  Sorry.

no problem, thanks anyway i figured id ask. I'm leaning towards getting the moment again because the price is definately right, the touch pro2 is still absurdly expensive and i am a fan of the android OS. thanks for the help!

No problem.  The official 2.1 update shouldn't be too far away.  I think you'll be happier with it this time around.

I can't imagine owning this phone before the last update (of any kind). As bad as battery life is now, I probably would have returned it if I had gotten it before the so-called battery life improvement that it is supposed to have with 1.5

Using cl14 I'll get a full days use which includes surfing the net throughout the day and watching a few Youtube vids.  I don't use it to listen to music anymore, but when I did it would drain the battery quicker.  That's still not great compared to some other phones, but it's better than it was.

Many apps will be on at startup, but after I use Advanced Task Killer, the only one that  persistently keeps turning back on is Voice Control.  I don't use Voice Control, but I can't keep it off.

the application manager supplied in the phone itself does not keep programs from reappearing after killing them?
