Can you WIFI tether with 2.1?

I have searched various boards and keep getting conflicting answers. Is it possible to us WIFI tether on the Moment with android 2.1? If so, how?

there are many kernels now that support wifi tethering.....you can follow the above link to sdx and they have a few linked
