Got really confused reading through about how to root my phone, then came across this thread.  Link is bad, so I went to search for it.

http://samsungmomentforum.com/samsung-moment/79930-samsung-moment-2-1-rooting-video-walkthrough-tutorial.html

Is that what you're looking for?  Haven't watched the tutorials yet, but I'll be going through this when I get home from work.

watched the video and it helped a lot.  I appreciate it!

Only problem is I'm having trouble changing my system/app folder to rw.  If I use connectbot, I can not cd to system/app.  (it gives me the message: "cd: can't cd to system/app")  It won't let me change to any other folders actually.  And If I use "root explorer", it crashes whenever I try to change it from r/o to r/w with the button up top.  Any suggestions?

Did you: $su -> #remount rw -> cd /system/app ?

btw do you have the remount command/shortcut? If not: mount -t rfs -o remount,rw /dev/stl5 /system and mount -t rfs -o remount,ro /dev/stl5 /system

I think I got it working now, thanks!  I wasn't able to rm the file with connectbot, but after making /system/app rw, I can use rootexplorer to mess with the files.

I had removed my SDcard as the original flashing instructions required a few weeks ago. If it was out during my flash, should I reflash with it in? Or is just rebooting the phone acceptable?
